British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's boxing match.
Former twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Attitude
"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually happening.
