The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Fans' Season 2 Bingo Cards — And She Has Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been intense.

The first season introduces a diverse group of characters living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain threads recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the creator stated recently. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.

That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 moves, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds now.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans make a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on October 29.
